My favorite part of volunteering is helping with outdoor activities. I get to see the children’s faces light up with excitement and happiness!

Generation to Generation
FIRST 5 Santa Clara County is collaborating with Generation to Generation, a five-year national campaign to mobilize a million adults, 50 years and older, to volunteer in their communities. As part this effort, FIRST 5 is encouraging adults throughout Santa Clara County to volunteer at a local Family Resource Center and share their wisdom, experience, and passion to help young children and families our community thrive.
Why become a Volunteer
As a volunteer at a FIRST 5 Family Resource Center, you will support families and help ensure children are happy, healthy, and prepared for success in school. Research shows children need four to six involved, caring adults in their lives to fully develop emotionally and socially. The involvement of a reliable, caring adult help children develop life skills, develop higher self-esteem, and event have better grades in school.
