PSP’s Male Involvement Training supports early childhood educators to:
• Learn about simple and practical actions that can be taken to increase male involvement and leadership within child development programs;
• Explore issues of equity, cultural competence, and the woman’s role in working effectively with men; and
• Learn about how to create a business plan to integrate male involvement into the ECE setting.

For public and private child welfare agencies, the focus on outcomes for children has intensified in recent years. To help align the child welfare system's focus on outcomes with how services are financed, more states are using performance-based contracting. With performance-based contracting, states shift incentives so that service providers find it easier to match the needs of children and families with the array of services offered. Despite this advantage, adopting a performance-based model poses significant policy, practice, and implementation challenges.

Recent research indicates that children benefit greatly when the relationship with their father or male role model is close and warm. A nurturing relationship with a father or male role model helps children grow up feeling more comfortable and secure.
This 2 week course will remind you what an important difference you can make in a child’s life. Taught by SCUSD Adult Ed. instructor and psychologist, Chris Glover.
