• Learn about simple and practical actions that can be taken to increase male involvement and leadership within child development programs;

• Explore issues of equity, cultural competence, and the woman’s role in working effectively with men; and

• Learn about how to create a business plan to integrate male involvement into the ECE setting.

Children will have an opportunity to work with dozens of local professional artists at Sunnyvale’s 23rd annual Hands on the Arts Festival.

Participation in this day-long festival includes all supplies for a full day of fun hands-on workshops giving children in kindergarten through 8th grade an opportunity to explore a variety of art methods and genres.

May is Asian Pacific Heritage Month. In honor of this, the San José Public Library System will be hosting Vietnamese cultural programs for youth in collaboration with San José / Evergreen Community College District.

Tully Library will feature the program, "A Taste of Vietnam". Come and explore the Vietnamese culture and taste a bit of Vietnamese refreshments. The youths will especially enjoy the challenge of answering questions that they have learned about their culture and the opportunity to enter a drawing to win prizes.
