Sometimes our efforts center on long-term programs to create systemic change in our society for the benefit of our youngest children. Other times, it's about a special, one-time event that engages children, their families, and their communities in child-focused activities that benefit healthy mental, physical, emotional or social development. It might be the opening of a new, all-access park. It might be an immunization drive. Or it might be a rally to support children's rights. Whatever the cause, FIRST 5 will support and spotlight many of these events, in the hopes that, one upon the other, the additive effect can be community-wide awareness and mutual commitment to meeting the needs of young children.
